Sadyt- I+D+i - Sadyt y la universidad

Sadyt & the University

From the beginning Sadyt has a closed relationship with universities and research centers. In general, R & D projects are executed under collaboration agreements with research groups from different universities, specialists in the area of research. Valoriza Agua/Sadyt also participates in numerous courses organized by universities and master.

In Spain, Valoriza Agua/Sadyt have run or are currently running research projects with the universities of Alcala de Henares, Juan Carlos de Madrid, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Universidad de Alicante, Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya and the University of Almería.

Some of the projects with these universities are:

Alicante University:

  • - Tertiary treatment of wastewater in pilot plants.

  • - Study on the generation and removal of odors in WWTP.

  • - Study on innovative solutions for the management of brine from desalination plants. Several subprojects: nutrient removal with microalgae, possible uses of salt extracted from seawater desalination plants, technical and economic study of the evaporation-crystallization for zero discharge desalination.

  • - Removal of organic micropollutants associated with MBR nanofiltration technology (124/GGTB/2007/3.1).

  • - Generation of quality water resources through membranes (NF MBR / NF) (CTQ200766780).

  • - Study of haloacetic acids reduction in natural waters using membranes (GV07/129).

  • - Ultrafiltration process optimization for reduction of organic matter in water and wastewater (ACOMP07/047) (ACOMP06/094) (CTM200403056).

  • - Boron reduction in seawater desalination.

University of Alcala de Henares, Juan Carlos de Madrid, Madrid Complutense University of Catalonia:

  • - Study on the generation and removal of odors in plant wastewater treatment

  • - Study on innovative solutions for the management of brine from desalination plants

These universities have participated in different phases and subprojects of this research.

University of Almería:

  • Project to clean acid water from mining

In Australia, we have projects with the University of Western Australia (agreement between the University and the University of Alicante to study the effects of brine discharges from the Southern Seawater Desalination plant on marine organisms in the area) and the Murdoch University, with which it is conducting an R & D for development of a biosensor to detect on-line microbiology in sea water.

Sadyt / Valoriza Agua are participating since 2007 in the "Master in Sustainable Development and Water Treatment" organized by the University of Alcala de Henares and King Juan Carlos and the Master "Hydrology and Water Resources Management" organized by Water Institute and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alicante, since 1995.

In association with some universities are several public research institutions which Valoriza Agua/Sadyt works:

  • - Water Institute  and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alicante

  • - Madrid Institute of Advanced Studies - Water (IMDEA-Water) - linked to the University of Alcala de Henares

  • - National Center of Excellence in Desalination in Australia (NCEDA) - Linked to the Murdoch University
